Our Blog

We have recently been busy converting netsuite scripts and have converted quite a few of our modules from SuiteScript 1.0 to SuiteScript 2.0. and continue to do so. If you haven't had a play with suitescript 2.0, I definitely recommend getting into it as soon as possible. Some of the advantages we have found so far are:
  1. Easier to use custom modules than attaching script library files to script records (or plugins for that matter).
  2. Easier to read code
  3. Easier for non-Netsuite programmers to pick up
  4. No more nlapi calls to wrap for testing purposes

Is Your Business Ahead of the Mobile Development Challenges?

A lot of companies are finding their business model under pressure because of the increased importance of mobility, the mobile development challenges and the need to further optimise their operations with enterprise mobile apps. Increasingly our lives and our businesses are controlled by the Internet of Things” or IoT in a constantly online working environment. As we discussed in our previous post, you need to ensure your business processes, operating systems and policies can meet these infrastructure requirements for mobile.

Can Your Business Meet the Infrastructure Requirements For Mobile?

A term being used a lot these days is the 'Internet of Things" or IoT. Which is simply interrelated computing devices, mechanical and digital machines, objects, animals or people that are provided with unique identifiers and the ability to transfer data over a network without requiring human-to-human or human-to-computer interaction. Add in mobile and immediately the consumerisation of IT, internal policies standardising on certain types of devices or operating systems are no longer acceptable. Employees will often bring their own devices into the workspace because they see benefits in how they can organise and do their work more effectively. They not only ask for choice but will demand options from company devices. The biggest issue facing business today is whether your processes, operating systems and policies can meet these infrastructure requirements for mobile.

How Do You Configure The Complexity of Managing Product Variations?

oz contacts managing product variationsAs any business that sells product knows, selling the product is one of the easier parts of the product management process. Factor in a wide range of product variations and NetSuite integration requires a bit more thinking outside the box for managing product variations. This was the case when we were approached by Oz Contacts an online eCommerce business who sell a wide range of contact lenses based on the customers' actual optometrist prescription. With contact lenses being sourced from within Australia, Oz Contacts are able to supply a wider range from their website. While products with option choices can be easily managed with Netsuite's Matrix Item type, what happens when the combinations go into the thousands as with Contact Lenses?

NetSuite Script Execution with SuiteScript

We love NetSuite simply because of the full set of features business owners get, straight out of the box, but every organisation has business policies and automation needs that may differ from the standard NetSuite functionality. This is when NetSuite software developers like Cloud Coders use SuiteScript, NetSuite's scripting tool made up of JavaScript plus a set of functions and objects to interact with the NetSuite environment, to extend the functionality of standard and custom record types, including the development of entirely new user interfaces. In fact, SuiteScript allows developers and administrators to create flexible business logic within NetSuite tailored to specific business needs—from sophisticated business processes to entirely new applications. The majority of NetSuite forms, records, customisation objects and their event/trigger points are programmatically accessible through SuiteScript. Customising your workflow processes, generating email notifications and automatically creating or updating records are just some of the things SuiteScript offers you the ability to do.

New Cloud Coder Products & Partnering with JCurve

It's been a busy few weeks since partnering with JCurve, one of Australia and New Zealand’s largest solution providers of NetSuite, to deliver improved Warehouse Management capabilities. With this partnership we have introduced the Honeywell Movilizer powered Warehouse Management System (WMS) for NetSuite. This is a leading Warehouse Management System and has been built using the Honeywell Movilizer platform to empower businesses running their Warehouse operations on a daily basis. This WMS extends to Purchasing and Receiving, Bin Put-aways, Pick / Pack and shipping and barcoding. Our partnership with JCurve will enable JCS NetSuite and “ERP” customers to process their orders more efficiently.

Can Business Improve Warehouse Operations with Honeywell Movilizer?

As NetSuite SuiteScript developers we are always looking for ways to empower our clients to take control, work smarter and effectively manage their businesses. Often there is a major disconnect in managing the sales processes and warehouse operations as more businesses move into online sales. It was due to this recognised need that we began developing with Honeywell Movilizer, to integrate within the NetSuite platform and created a Warehouse Management System for businesses to manage their warehouse systems more efficiently. With completion of this project, we were recently approached by Online eCommerce store Hot Toner to improve their warehouse operations and help them manage their sales processes.

How Does the eCommerce Website Lifecycle Impact on Your Needs With NetSuite?

The increase of e-commerce has redesigned the manner in which people around the globe buy and sell goods. As new online channels come into use, the traditional online distribution model for brands relying on eCommerce continues to be disrupted. In fact, the complete eCommerce Website Lifecycle is constantly and rapidly changing. It is this constant disruption that we here at Cloud Coders look at when approached to develop any integration between NetSuite and an eCommerce website already in use. In fact, we have found there are 6 key stages that begin with the investigation of the marketplace and business use for the website, through to the redesign and decommissioning of the website to adjust for changes as business and consumer needs change.

Investigate

This initial stage should cover who your market is, what their requirements are, and what CMS will work best for your business. Things to consider are what type of content you want to use now and in the future, what is currently successful in the same market space that you're operating in, and what your key points of difference are within the business model. One point to keep in mind is how will you communicate this to your audience?

Establishing a Value on Website Integration with NetSuite for Product or Manufacturing Based Websites.

Websites today have developed so dramatically, and one question we were asked recently was, "How to get value from your website when the order volume is unknown but the information on it needs to be relevant and timely? As NetSuite SuiteScript developers we looked at the question of what is the value of a website integration with NetSuite for information on products. So how do we empower our clients to take control and effectively manage their businesses? We recently completed a Website Integration With NetSuite For CKC Civil Construction Equipment. One of the core issues was how to get value from their website when their order volumes were unknown yet the information on the site needed to be relevant and timely.

Correct Aging of Debtors Is Essential For End-of-Month Trading Terms in NetSuite

NetSuite is a highly flexible ERP and CRM system, however in some cases - such as trading terms - it just isn't able to cover all bases. Australian and European customers are accustomed to end-of-month terms, with many Australian businesses demanding 30 days EOM as a matter of course. When using End of Month Trading Terms, it is important that the Due Date of an Invoice is always calculated correctly.
